| | | | A Month for Poetry Lovers | National Poetry Month reminds us that poets have an integral role to play in our culture and that poetry matters. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K–12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, families, and, of course, poets, marking poetry's important place in our lives. Join us in the celebration! The library offers poetry books for all ages for checkout with your library card. Don't have a card? Find out how to apply for one! We will also have events honoring National Poetry Month and we hope you will participate. | | | | | The Alachua County Library District invites all community members to discover the multi-faceted story of the library during National Library Week April 23-29 by visiting a library branch or checking out our online resources. How does the library add to your story? Does the library provide you with great books, free internet services, fun programs, or all the above? Let the library and your community know with our Dear Library Webform! Or tell us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter using #MyLibrary and tagging @alachualibrary. | | | | | The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale returns on April 22! Staff Picks: Every month, we ask all our library staff to submit the best books they read recently and collect all the titles for easy access. Just select your favorite genre to find titles and catalog links. Patron Picks: Every Saturday on Facebook, we ask our patrons, "What are you reading this weekend?" Our patrons answered, and we gathered the titles week to week to find which books and genres are trending. | | | |
