Celebrate Black History Month

Each February, we celebrate Black History Month by recognizing and honoring the outstanding contributions that Black Americans have made to American history and culture. At the Library District, we celebrate by promoting Black stories in our collection and related programs.

Join us for An Afternoon with Author Wanda Morris on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at Headquarters Library. Meet the acclaimed author of "All Her Little Secrets" during a book discussion and author talk. This event is co-sponsored by the Opinionated Ladies Book Club.

Try a library program at one of our 12 library locations to celebrate Black history and culture. Join us for African American Read-Ins, a four-part film series, art workshops, and much more!
